Meet the Maker
Erika Lynnette Baker is an all around lover of the arts who moved to Kansas City after completing her BA in Theatre and Writing at Northwest Missouri State University. She has worked throughout the city as a Teaching Artist, Puppeteer, Actress, Directer, Writer, Producer and Maker ever since and has loved embracing any and all creative challenges she can get her hands into! Currently, she is also pursuing an Associates in Graphic Design from JCCC (Johnson County Community College.)
She has always been a great lover of self-expression and, having grown up in a small town, has always used her dress and adornments as a form of creative expression so it makes sense that she got bit by the jewelry bug. She is also a life-long admirer of nature which is what she bases much of her work on and loves to utilize found nature objects when creating new pieces.
She lives in the Northland area with her wonderful partner, stepson, parrot, two dogs and ant colony as well as her assortment of desert plants. When she isn't busy in her in-home studio, she is hunting down unique finds for her MCM and vintage collections and enjoying time with her family.
